Abstract: | The present investigation, entitled Physiological studies on foliar application of growth regulators on growth, yield and quality of hybrid rice (Oryza sativa L.) was conducted during Kharif season, 2015-16 and 2016-17 at The Student Instructional Farm, of C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. In randomized Block Design with three replications, on hybrid rice variety PHB-71. Eleven treatments viz. Control (Untreated), GA3:20 ppm, GA3:40 ppm, IAA: 25 ppm, IAA: 50 ppm, Triacontanol (TRIA): 5 ppm, Triacontanol (TRIA): 10 ppm, NAA: 10 ppm, NAA: 20 ppm, Cycocel: 3000 ppm, Cycocel: 4000 ppm. Result revealed that foliar spray of GA3:40 ppm, recorded maximum plant height (cm.) at early flowering against control. CCC 3000 ppm gave the máximum number of tillers plant-1, days to 50 % flowering and days to maturity. Foliar sprayed IAA 50 ppm increased culm dry weight, leaves dry weight, total dry matter plant-1, Total leaf área/ plant, relative wáter content (%), RGR, CGR, NAR, SLW, CTD, total number of leaves, chlorophyll intensity (SPAD Value), chlorophyll content, carbohydrate content (mg.g dry wt.), Nitrogen content, protein content, starch content were recorded in comparison to control. Yield and yield contributing traits viz. number of penicle plant-1, number of grains panicle-1, grain yield kg/ha, harvest index (%), and test weight (g), were also significantly incresed with foliar application of IAA-50 ppm as against control. Study also revealed that grain yield was significantly and positively correleated with yield attributes and quality characters newline |
