Abstract: Brushless DC (BLDC) motors are electronically commutated synchronous machines with permanent magnets (PMs) on the rotor, and trapezoidal Back Electromotive Force (EMF) on the stator. The presence of permanent magnets in the rotor makes the BLDC motors more effectual and diminutive when compared to the conventional DC motors. BLDC motors have emerged in recent years as a very strong contender to replace induction motors for variable speed applications, industrial, automotives, home appliances and electric vehicles. They entrust better performance in terms of enhanced efficiency, reduced noise, high-power density, and compact size when compared to the prevailing motors. As its gross cost enduring to decline, it has the considerable scope to become a supreme force in the market of industrial applications. newlineCogging torque is an undesirable component for the motion of the Motor. It is formed because of the magnetic locking between rotor magnets (PM s) and silicon steel in the stator. Even though there is no stator current the cogging torque is existing and it also known as detent torque or no current torque newline
