dc.description.abstract | Multilevel inverters are widely used in motor drives, static VAR compensators, renewable newlineenergy systems, etc. These inverters provide output voltages with more than two levels. newlineTherefore, these inverters output voltage contains reduced harmonic content and provides a newlinebetter output waveform quality. Due to these merits, multilevel inverters are gaining more newlinepopularity in single-phase applications. However, the existing multilevel inverter topologies newlinerequire a higher number of semiconductor devices and gate driver requirements, which newlineincreases the complexity in switching and cost of the topology. In this regard, efforts and newlineinitiatives are taken to improve the existing multilevel inverters topologies for single-phase newlineapplications. Moreover, to achieve better output performance in terms of harmonic content newlineand efficiency, the implementation of a proper switching technique also plays a significant newlinerole in addition to the inverter topology. Therefore, this research focuses on improving the newlinemultilevel inverter topology design and switching techniques for single-phase applications newline | |
