Abstract: This descriptive survey with the sample of 607 students of 9th class from PSEB schools in Ludhiana District selected using multistage random sampling technique. The data was collected using self-constructed scales school environment, parental involvement, learning styles preference questionnaire by Karthigeyan (2014) and achievement in social science was measured on the basis of the total scores achieved in the school examination was done over a period of three months. ANOVA, t-test, coefficient of correlation and Regression equations was employed. There was positive but statistically insignificant correlation between achievement in social science and learning styles while positive significant correlation between the achievement in social science with school environment and parental involvement. There is significant difference in achievement in social science, school environment and parental involvement with respect to gender. newline
