Abstract: This is a research study on how Music is used in advertisements to make them more effective. Musical advertisements have got a special place in the hearts of music lovers and in the hearts of the general public. Music, being the best fine art, is the best means of expressing our feelings while advertising is the most important medium of mass communication. Therefore, the harmony of advertising and music is the most beautiful, creative and excellent method to make every type of information easily accessible to the general public. Advertising is an art and is one of the most important components of every business. In the absence of Music, it is extremely difficult to compel the consumer to watch or listen to an advertisement. Music makes an advertisement entertaining and its subject matter reaches the consumer easily. Advertisements are helpful to both the seller and the consumer. It is very necessary for the consumer to watch and hear the entire advertisement, so it is very important for an advertisement to be effective and influential. And in this context, music is one of the most effective parts of an advertisement. If the subject matter and concept of an advertisement is extremely effective, only then it can make the audience sit to watch the advertisement without music, otherwise music is used in most of the advertisements. There are main three types of Music used in the advertisements-the Background Music, Super hit Songs and the Jingles. The Indian Ragas have also been used in the advertisements which help in the promotion of Indian Classical Music. To make the research appeal more authentic, the views of a group of students, teachers and general public were also recorded against a questionnaire constructed on the facts related to the research topic and it was concluded that according to all the respondents, Music plays a crucial role in making an advertisement more successful and also helps in brand recall. Also Musical advertisements positively influence the buying behavior of the consumer. newline
