Abstract: | Rapid growth in industry and automation drive has introduced diverse sensitive loads in newlineelectrical domain. These sensitive loads require uniform power to be fed without any perturbations. These sensitive loads are vulnerable to even small variations in voltage. This is critical in life newlinesupport systems, cyber physical systems where data is very critical. These situations have changed the ways of traditional power generation and distribution sectors. The end users have started expecting high quality power to be delivered to them as the loads on their side are sensitive in newlinenature. A single stop solution to this changed requirements is the concept of Custom Power Park (CPP). A CPP can be defined as an entity with a dedicated power network which procures power from various power generating companies or grids and with the help of Custom Power Devices (CPD), improve the quality of power and deliver the end users the power with their required power newlinequality. The proposed work focuses on design and development of a Custom Power Park which newlineprovides customized service with high quality, regulated, uninterrupted, steady and clean electrical power service as per the customer demand with the help of custom power devices. The performance of various Custom Power Devices such as Solid State Transfer Switch(SSTS), Static synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) / Shunt Active Filter and Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) / Series Active Filter are analyzed. The functions of Shunt Active Filter such as Current newlineharmonic compensation, Reactive power compensation and balancing of unbalanced load currents need to be analyzed to ensure load compensation. The performance of the Series Active Filter to maintain a constant load voltage profile under all the kinds of voltage perturbations has to be newlineverified. In the research work, a novel and efficient controller for Series Active Filter to carry out compensation of voltage sag, swell, harmonics, magnitude and phase unbalance has been proposed. Performance analysis of prototype versions of the proposed.. |
