dc.description.abstractWith the incursion of India into the neo liberal market economy, the sociocultural newlinematrix of society has undergone a radical transformation in terms of both newlineideology and practice. newlineAravind Adiga., famous for his Man Booker prize for his debut novel The newlineWhite Tiger (2008), examines the nature of these abstractions through an analysis of newlinethe working of a capitalist ideology on the extant hierarchies and segmentations that newlineforms an ubiquitous aspect of the Indian society in all his narratives through a neo - newlinerealist critique of society, although, he does explore the postcolonial ideologues of the newlinedeveloped country like Australia in his latest novel, Amnesty (2020) as well. newlineNeo-liberalism and global capital has protracted social inequalities, newlineaccommodated cultural imperialism and ushered in an era of urban consumerist newlinecapital, and has integrated the political, economic and cultural ideology of the society newlineinto a neo-colonial paradigm that has marginalised sections of people like the newlinemigrants, minorities and the poor through fundamentalist, fascist, and other coercive newlineideologues and practices resulting in social inequality and pushing the majority into a newlinespace of anonymity. It has also transformed the Nation into an imperialist Asian newlinesuperpower through its economic policies in the African and Latin American newlinecountries. Such practices get legitimised through cultural codification, growth of newlineelitist bourgeoise, institutionalised segregation and procedural democratic practices. newlineAnd as the State ceases to play the role o newlinemarket facilitator, the individual citizen gets vapourised into a commodity. newlinenodes of power and negative consciousness which is deliberately perpetuated and newline
