dc.description.abstract | Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), is a distributed network composed of various newlinesensors that work in co-operation to transmit the sensed data, often via wireless newlinemedium to the static sink. Since, wireless sensor nodes (i.e., motes) are equipped newlinewith a limited battery; energy minimization has always been a great interest to newlineWSN researchers. It has been a known fact that a sensor spends maximum energy newlineeither in transmission or reception of the data. Thus, there exists a plethora of newlineresearch for minimizing energy consumption while transmitting and routing of newlinethe data. In general, routing protocols for WSN are broadly divided into two newlinecategories | newlineat and hierarchical. In newlineat routing schemes sensor adopt a multihop newlinescheme to transmit data, whereas in the hierarchical network is divided into newlineclusters, with each cluster having a dedicated Cluster Head (CH). In this thesis, newlinewe harnessed the salient features of both the approaches and developed a new family of routing algorithms called as Hybrid routing schemes. newline | |
