Abstract: | The growth of a country entirely depends upon the industrialization expansion and agricultural production. To tailor the requirement of a country, with increase in population industrial expansion is the only problem solving way. Such industrial expansion also results ultimately in the accumulation of pollutants to a larger extend particularly in all segments of the environment. Among them, water pollution caused by textile dye industries contaminates the entire irrigational water stream. The water pollution caused by the textile industries cause serious health hazardous to the environment. Hence it has become a challenging role for the technocrats and material science researchers to find an alternate solution to minimize the extent of pollution caused. newlineConventional methods such as coagulation, reverse-osmosis, membrane filtration, electro-osmosis, ultrafiltration and adsorption produced considerable results to lower the level of water pollution caused in the environment. But all these conventional methods were found to have their own merits and demerits. The common demerits that were found in all conventional methods are poor stability, less reproducibility and production of secondary sludge after treatment. These demerits produced a considerable effect in the production and running cost of the treatment method. AOP (Advanced Oxidation Process) was chosen as an alternative since this method does not show any demerits of the conventional treatment methods. newline |
