Modern electronic systems, process and store information digitally. newlineThe conversion from analog to digital and/or from digital to analog will newlinealways be inevitable in a digital world and it is performed by data converters: newlineAnalog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and digital-to-analog converters newline(DACs). In wireless communication applications, the data converters are newlinecritical blocks of base transceiver stations (BTSs), which are able to handle newlinemultiple communication standards such as GSM, CDMA, LTE, wideband newlineCDMA, and WiMax (or IEEE 802.16). The wideband transceivers that handle newlinethe communication with the many handsets, active in the corresponding cell newlinephone require data converters with high signal bandwidths of the order, of a newlinefew tens of MHz. newlineData converters used in wireless communication for satellite newlinecommunication and military communication applications require a wider newlinebandwidth and radiation-tolerant since the chip is meant to be part of a newlinesatellite system in space and therefore it is going to be exposed in radiation newlineand high-energy particles. Therefore, the key requirements for the data newlineconverters in wireless communication applications should be with high newlinebandwidth, less area, low power consumption, low offset, low gain error, low newlinetemperature dependence, very high nominal output resolution, very low noise newlinelevel, excellent power supply rejection, radiation tolerant and low pin count newlinepackage. newline
