Abstract: Research and Development (RandD) investment has a sophisticated newlinecorrelation with the profitability or financial performance of capital intensive newlinemanufacturing sector. By making it possible to produce innovative products and newlineservices, RandD investments provide long term growth, gain competitive newlineadvantages and create value for corporations. RandD can lead to innovations in newlineany business which may be in terms of new products and services, improved newlineprocesses and new ways to interact with your customers. These innovations can newlineresult in greater profits and lower costs. However, they require significant newlineinvestment expenditures. As RandD investment may not yield certain outcome newlineimmediately and the benefit of the research shall be enjoyed in the future. But, it newlineis necessary to measure the impact of the RandD spending on the key success newlineareas of business and the present study has been proposed to measure the same. newlineThe objective of the present study is to analyze the relationship between RandD newlineinvestments and financial performances of selected segments of textile industry newlinein India. newlineRandD investment and performance measurement is one of the important newlineand interesting topics of previous or existing research, which is why a large newlinenumber of research studies have already been carried out on RandD expenditure newlineor investment in RandD. Most of the observations made in the earlier research on newlinethe RandD spending have been carried out in OECD countries heading towards newlineeconomic cooperation and development to address the complex business newlineproblems among the member countries newline
