Abstract: | In recent years, Renewable Energy (RE) plays an important role in newlinedistribution and generation system. The renewable energy integration through newlinepower electronic devices needs more attention, because the RE integration newlineshould ensure power quality and power quantity. Inorder to ensure the power newlinequality, multilevel inverters are used widely in renewable energy conversion newlinesystem. The conventional converters have major limitations such as newlineincreasing in number of both active and passive devices, and it is not capable newlineof balancing the capacitor voltages. To overcome the above limitations many newlinerecent topologies on MLI which has self-capacitor voltage balancing newlinecapability, voltage boosting, reduced number of switches and DC sources, newlinegalvanic isolation are proposed. A CSCMLI has added advantages of selfcapacitor newlinevoltage balancing capability and voltage boosting. This CSCMLI newlinetopology generates nine level output voltage. The CSCMLI topology needs to newlinebe cascaded to generate m level of voltages. It may increase the number of newlineswitches and diodes. Hence in this work, a modified CSCMLI is proposed newlinewhich can generate seventeen levels with addition of only four switches. newlineThe harmonics and losses are the crucial components responsible newlinefor power quality. The power quality is enhanced by various control strategies newlinebroadly classified as low frequency switching and high frequency switching. newlineIn harmonic analysis, even order harmonics and higher order harmonics are newlineeliminated by using suitable filters. The lower order harmonics need special newline |
