dc.description.abstract | Attention and consciousness relationship has been put to debate since long. newlineFirstly due to the common sense notion that pertains no consciousness, no attention newlineand secondly due to highly interwoven functional aspect. When we attend to any newlinestimulus we become aware of all its attributes but as soon as our attention shifts the newlinestimulus fades away from our consciousness, this perspective have made researchers to newlineconsider it as dependent mechanism as any of the phenomena cannot be carried in newlineabsence of other. But if we recapitulate our events finely we will notice we sometime newlineattend to things without paying attention, while we fail to be conscious of things despite newlinebeing attentive too (attentional blindness, change blindness etc.).Cognitive newlinepsychologist are engaged in highly sophisticated experiments to get a clear perspective. newlineVarious study on blind sight patients, brain imaging, N2Pc, ERP etc. shows how both newlineattention and consciousness has different neuronal pathway. newline | |
