dc.description.abstract | The handloom industry of India is very famous in the world for its newlinedelicate, diverse, and superior craftsmanship. It is a vital traditional sector that newlinecan be found throughout the country and supports millions of people in both rural newlineand urban areas. It employs workers directly as weavers and indirectly like newlinecarpenters, sizers, welf- winders, re-winders, etc. it is the second-largest newlineemployment generator after agriculture, with more than 35 lakh people involved newlinein weaving and related activities in the 4th Handloom Census done in 20019-20, newlinecompared to 43 lakh people in the 3rd Handloom Census conducted in 2009-10. newlineIt plays a very important role in the economy of India and contributes to GDP, newlineoccupation, income generation, production, and export earning, etc. newline | |
