D:Desha is one of the fundamental principles of Ayurveda, which refers to the newlinegeo-ecological region or habitat.1 The predominant DOSHA at the time of conception newlinedecides the Prakriti (body constitutions).2 It is also determined and influenced by the newlinespecific Bhumi desha of an individual 2 and forms one among the major factors to be newlineexamined (Parikshabhavas) for diagnosing as well as treating disease.3,4,5 newlineThe specific type of Bhumi desha attributes the specific type of geo-climatic newlineconditions. The predominance of Dosha of specific Bhumi desha influences Prakriti newlineand becomes a risk factor in the manifestation of the particular disease.6 Therefore newlineeach specific Prakriti tends to follow certain lifestyle activities to maintain the newlinepredominant Dosha in its natural balance and prevent the disease. Hence, Bhumi desha newlineplays a major role in determining the Prakriti (health and disease) of an individual. newlineSince the geo-ecological parameters explained in the Ayurvedic classics for each newlineBhumi desha are very much broad and is not dealt with anywhere and even it is not newlineused in present practice, there is a need for proper identification and mapping of the newlineregions (land or place) into a different Bhumi desha and for assessment of the newlinedominant of Prakriti of different types of Bhumi desha. newlineHence the present study has been undertaken as Determining Geo-Ecological newlineParameters for Designing Desha Wise Map of Belgaum District and Assessment of newlineDesha Wise Prakriti Predominance - A Cross Sectional Study newlinexii newlineOBJECTIVES: newline· Development of geo- ecological parameters for demarking different Bhumi newlineDesha. newline· Designing Desha wise map of Belagavi District. newline· To study Deha Prakriti predominance in different Bhumi desha of Belagavi newlineDistrict newline
