dc.description.abstract | Phishing is an internet based attack often which is used by criminals to gather user data like login credentials, financing details and personal information. Phishing is an online crime that tries to a deceptive scheme used to cheat unsuspected users for exposing their valuable (and perceptive) personal information. The attack occurs when a hoaxed email or instant message or text message cloaked as trusted entity is opened by the user. The addressee is tricked by clicking a malicious link that may lead to the installation of malware in the electronic gadget. The malware installed in the user system reveals sensitive information regarding web based activities of the user. Online phishing is one of the most epidemic crime schemes of the modern internet era. The targeted information to the miscreant majorly includes financial account details, social security numbers, personal addresses, passwords, usernames, and social relationships which lead to unauthorized purchases, stealing of funds, or identity theft. Due to these kinds of attacks, the entire trust over web pages goes down. Therefore, it has become a major concern for security providers, financial sectors and researchers targeting them to provide more attention.
