Abstract: Biodiesel can be produced from vegetable seed non edible oils and also from waste animal fat. The Calophyllum Inophyllum seed oil (CIO) has a new possible source of non edible oil use of alternative fuel. They can successfully change in alternate diesel fuel and help in decreasing the import of the crude oil used in diesel engine. The discarded seed of Calophyllum Inophyllum seed which are planted in India mainly available in Ramanathapuram district yield period is twice a year to prevent soil erosion is considered as the possible source for extracting biodiesel, Which makes it conceivable to use this alternate fuel for Calophyllum Inophyllum seed oil (CIO) with transesterified in Calophyllum Inophyllum oil methyl ester (CIOME). The Experiment has been conducted with engine speed of 1500rpm and at compression ratio of 17.5:1. The performance and emission results of the diesel engine revealed that biodiesel blends of (CIOME) results in improved performance on brake power, brake thermal efficiency, specific fuel consumption and reduced engine emission. newlineThe objective of the study focused on creating alternate fuel that will control the increasingly high emission levels of pollutants that affect air quality. The Calophyllum Inophyllum seed oil (known widely in Tamil as Punnagam oil). The (CIO) is non-edible oil cultivated in the vast expanse of East Africa, Malaysia, Australia and southern Coastal India. The Calophyllum Inophyllum seed (CIO) is de-husked first and converted into Calophyllum Inophyllum oil methyl ester (CIOME) through transesterification process by changing the biodiesel. It consists of superior diesel properties that can be used in a diesel engine. The engine used in this experiment was a single cylinder four stroke Direct Injection (DI) diesel engine with a bore 87.5mm, a stroke of 110mm and a compression ratio of 17.5:1.
