Electrochemistry has recently received a significant attention by virtue newlineof its simple principle, operations, ecological compatibility and viability in newlinedegrading non-biodegradable pollutants. Electrochemical strategies usually newlinegenerate the reaction intermediates which has the potential to degrade newlinepollutants or biodegradable. The commonly known two-dimensional newlineelectrochemical reactor utilized for wastewater treatment restricts its limitation newlinedue to inefficiency in mass transfer and energy consumption. Comparing with newlinetwo-dimensional electrochemical reactor, numerous particles can be utilized in newlinethree-dimensional reactor. Under electric field, the particles in 3D system with newlinespecific geometric structure polarises which in turn yields high electrocatalytic newlineefficiency. With numerous similitudes, 3D electrochemical system built up in newlinereference with 2D electrochemical system. In 3D electrochemical system, the newlineparticle electrode or bed electrode are generally fine particles of desired size. newlineThe microelectrodes behaviour of the particle due to electric field between two newlinemain electrodes is seen in all types of 3D electrochemical system irrespective newlineof material utilized. The 3D electrochemical reactor in wastewater treatment newlinewas found to be one of the best solutions as wastewater treatment from various newlinestreams such as industries, agriculture in major is considered as a solution for newlinewater shortage. Two different categories of aqueous solution were chosen for newlinethe study, one is organic and another one is inorganic to study the ability and newlineefficiency of the designed 3D electrochemical reactor. Sulphonamide which is newlinea leading antibiotic in pharmaceutical industry and its well known for its usage newlineas antibiotic in human and in veterinary medicine was chosen as organic newlineaqueous solution for this research. Hexavalent chromium utilized in newlineelectroplating industries was chosen as inorganic aqueous solution for this newlineresearch. newline newline newline
