Abstract: Energy plays the predominant constraint in Wireless Sensor Network newline(WSN) hence, an Energy and Correlation Aware Cooperative Data Collection newline(ECCDC) method of soft computing approach has been proposed in the research newlinework. This work is an effort to increase the lifetime of the network by newlineidentifying and rectifying the significant energy exploitation activities of WSN newlinein order to locate the active sensor nodes and thus to find out when the sensor newlinenode dies in the region of interest. For this reason, an energy-efficient DSR newline(Dynamic Source Routing) protocol needs to provide the right stability region newlinewith a prolonged network lifetime. A comprehensive model has been created newlineusing the characteristics of WSN nodes and channel characteristics based on newlineactual measurements of Smart Grid path loss for various environments. newlineThis work also defines a hierarchical network structure with balanced clusters newlineand energy harvesting Sensor Nodes. These nodes choose the Cluster Heads newline(CHs) from each other using a low overhead passive clustering model. newlineThe process of cluster formation is done using Particle Swarm Optimization newline(PSO) based on passive clustering. The Energy Competent Dynamic Source newlineRouting Protocol (EC-DSR) is used to minimize delay output in the WSN-based newlineSmart Grid. newlineCalculation of the optimal cluster path with Chicken Swarm newlineOptimization (CSO) is performed where distance and residual energy are to be newlineconsidered as constraints. The performance analyses are carried out in terms of newlinepacket delivery ratio, throughput, control overhead, and average end-to-end newlinedelay to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method. The research aims to newlineoptimize the life of the network by identifying and correcting main energy newlineconsumption behaviors of the WSN and also defines a standardized network newlinearchitecture of managed clusters and sensor nodes for its implementation in the newlineSmart Grid. Such sensor nodes selects the CHs with a low overhead newline
