dc.description.abstractIn this thesis an intelligent temporal database management system newlinewhich is capable of performing temporal reasoning and temporal mining in newlineorder to provide effective security in temporal databases has been designed newlineand implemented This system uses interval stamping of tuples for valid time newlineand instant stamping of tuples for transaction time and provides a query newlinelanguage called Extended Temporal Mining Structured Query Language newline ETMSQL that has been developed by integrating and extending the query newlinelanguages Extended Temporal Structured Query Language ETSQL and newlineTemporal Query Mining Language TQML The main advantage of this newlinequery language is that it follows both temporal relational algebra and newlinetemporal logic and hence it is capable of performing security checks through newlinerules, agents and classification techniques newlineThere are many contributions that are provided in this research newlineWork First an architectural framework has been proposed and implemented newlinethat enables effective temporal reasoning and provides enhanced security newlinemechanisms newline newlineen_US
