Abstract: | Induction Motors and Synchronous Motors are widely used in newlineIndustries They are preferred as most common drive due to their simple newlineconstruction and robustness During the last few years need for new motor newlinetypes have grown since high efficiency and accurate dynamic performance are newlinedemanded in industrial applications newlineConventional motors fail in their popularity when speed regulation newlineis required In several cases high torque in minimum time and simple newlinecontrollability are often desired Permanent Magnet Synchronous Reluctance newlineMotors have gained interest in these applications due to several factors like newlineeasy controllability and reduced cost The permanent magnets used are made newlineof neodymium iron boron These magnets have the property of producing newlinehigh field strength comparing to other magnets and now they are newlinecommercially available at affordable cost newlineThese Permanent Magnet Synchronous Reluctance Motors have newlineproved to be very good because of their speed controllability and high power newlinedensity An improved design in the location of permanent magnets in the flux newlinebarriers of rotor is proposed The performance results are obtained newlinetheoretically and validated by experimental work newline newline newline |
