Abstract: | Due to increasing power demand the power system network newlinebecomes more and more complex one A survey shows that demand of power newlineincreases day by day As the demand increases the power networks are newlineoverloaded and power quality faces lot of struggle The power sag voltage newlineinstability harmonics distortion are the main causes of the above problem newlineFor solving the above problems we cannot go on installing new lines as it is newlinecost challenge To eliminate the causes of harmonics various techniques are newlinecontinuously introduced such as transformer connection introductions of newlinevarious type of filters etc newlineAmong all types of filters the Shunt Active Filter is popular due to newlineits advantageous characteristics The SAF maintains the sinusoidal newlinecharacteristics of the source current by injecting the opposite harmonics newlinedemanded by the load to the original harmonics produced by the load To newlineproduce opposite harmonics the SAF is connected in parallel with the load newlineThe objective of SAF is maintaining source current sinusoidal and in phase newlinewith source voltage As a result of this the Total Harmonic Distortion will be newlinezero and power factor will be unity Basically investigation of Cascaded Five newlineLevel Inverter CFLI is used in a SAF Making use of the CFLI has benefits newlineof low harmonics distortion reduced number of switches and switching newlinelosses newline newline |
