Abstract: In the design of very large scale integrated circuits the devices newlinerequire energy efficient circuits Digital Signal Processing DSPbuilding newlineblocks which are widely used in computing and communication fields need newlinesuch efficient circuit design Though many efforts have been made for the newlineimprovement of the system design to satisfy the highspeed circuit the power newlineconsumption is still to be expensive In this thesis four methods have been newlineproposed to improve the performance of the Finite Impulse Response FIR newlinefilter in terms of power area and speed As the FIR filter is a commonly used newlineblock set in signal processing system the improvement in the performance of newlinethe FIR filter will be of great significance newline
