Abstract: Mosquitoes (Insect: Diptera) are medically important insects associated with the transmission newlineof several diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya, Japanese Encephalitis and Filariasis. newlineTropical countries are seriously affected by mosquito borne diseases and face vast socioeconomic problems. Dengue, Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) and Chikungunya are the newlinearboviral diseases which pose a threat to public health management. Almost 2.5 billion people newlineface the threat of dengue around the globe and 24,000 deaths are reported annually. More than newline100 countries in Africa, the Americas, the Eastern Mediterranean, South-East Asia and the newlineWestern Pacific are seriously affected by dengue. Kolkata, India, has a long history of dengue newlineattack since 1937 to recent year. The mosquitoes Aedes aegypti (Linnaeus, 1781) (Diptera: newlineCulicidae) and Aedes albopictus (Skuse, 1895) are the renowned dengue vector globally. newline newline
