Abstract: A person who purchases a product or service for personal use is termed as a consumer. In the marketing point of view, a farmer plays inter changing roles of a producer, consumer and supplier during the course of farming. While procuring the agricultural inputs the farmer acts as customer and he is influenced by the factors that affects the buying decisions of a person. Procurement and experimenting are equally important in agriculture, and there are probabilities that farmers urge to switch to improved farming techniques and practices. During the course of shift also the farmer is guided by the factors that influence the buying decisions of a person. The prominent factors that influence the consumers buying decisions are awareness, attitude, perception and satisfaction. As farming is more into practicing and experimenting the factor satisfaction becomes more crucial. To meet the growing requirements for food, the concept of sustainability has been overlooked in agriculture during the past decade. The recognition of the fact that, healthy and nature friendly agricultural production can be accomplished only through sustainable farming practices prompted the world nations to adopt sustainable farming practices. The adoption and shift to improved farming practice depends on the farmers awareness, attitude, perception and satisfaction. To promote the sustainable farming practices various alternate farming methods including organic agriculture, permaculture, eco-agriculture and biodynamic agriculture have been practiced across the globe. Among the various methods experimented, organic farming gained global acceptance across the world, and the world nations are gravely promoting this nature-friendly farming practice. Organic farming is the farming practice that promotes the production of agricultural outputs with improved quality by safeguarding and protecting the natural environment, and the welfare and health of all the species.
