Abstract: | The vertical jump is a multi-joint exercise that necessitates significant motor coordination and is considered one of the fundamental movement skills. Countermovement jump, squat jump, countermovement jumps with arm thrust, repeated countermovement jumps, and drop jump are some examples of vertical jumps frequently used for various research purposes to measure specific jumping abilities. Much research has been focused on the development of vertical jump performance. However, various training methods have been effectively used to enhance vertical jump performance, including heavy resistance, explosive type resistance, electrostimulation, and vibration training; the literature review does not reveal any studies attempted to investigate the effect of SAQ and plyometric training on specific jumping abilities. Therefore, the current study was being conducted to find out the effect of SAQ and plyometric training with different duration (0 days, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 weeks) on specific jumping abilities (countermovement jump, squat jump, countermovement jump with arm thrust, repeated countermovement jump) as the first objective of the study. The second objective is to find the relationship between the long jump performance and specific jumping abilities. The study was conducted on randomly selected twenty-four (N= 24) male athletes. All participants were randomly assigned to three groups consisting of two experimental groups and one control group; each group was composed of 8 subjects. |
