dc.description.abstract | We design and fabrication of small molecules based on fluorescent receptors (R1-R5) for the detection of various ions such as Cu2+, Ni2+, Cd2+ and F- in the aqueous solution without having any interference from other testing metal ions and anions has been studied through various analytical techniques. The binding formation (1:1 and 1:2) of receptors with ions was carried out via Job s plot and Electropray Ionization-Mass Spectra (ESI-MS) analyses. newlineThe receptors illustrate that the strong colorimetric and fluorescent changes with the consecutive addition of metal ions and anion. According to the results, the appeared colour and fluorescence could be recovered due to the addition of EDTA and HSO4- into the receptors-analyte solution. The terrific reversible and reproducible process to be motivated for considering the proposed receptors (R1 and R2) as an ideal nominee for the construction of molecular logic circuits. Moreover, the receptors (R2) mimic as a molecular keypad lock with the successive addition of fluoride and hydrogen bi sulphate ions into the receptor solution. Besides, these receptors are capable to sense the ions at a low detection limit. Therefore, the prepared receptors are successfully applied to determine the concentration of ions in various water samples. newlineFurther, a quantum chemical study has been theoretically supported the photo physical changes. Additionally, the test kits containing the receptors (R1 and R2) also reveals a good selectivity and sensitivity of nickel and fluoride ions in solution medium. newline | |
