Abstract: | Energy is the lifeline of the modern world. The modern household has seen the invasion of domestic appliances in all forms which aid in the reduction of manual labour paving way for a comfortable life. Consequently there has been a multifold rise in the electrical demand. Domestic sector accounted for 21.6% of the total energy consumption during the year 2011in India. It has been estimated that there is one refrigerator for every six persons worldwide. The energy consumption of the domestic refrigerator accounts for about 15-20 % of total domestic electric usage. newline |
