Abstract: Friction Stir Processing (FSP) is a promising solid-state processing technique to reconstruct the microstructure and to enhance the mechanical behavior in a localized region of the base material. The FSP is developed from the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) principle. FSP omits the pores and produces the reduced grain size of intermetallic in the low weight alloys. In the manufacturing units, especially in the automotive and aircraft sectors, there is an endless need of low-weight alloys. It needs a reduction in vehicle weight without negotiating the material properties. Therefore, aluminium alloys are agreeable material to impart better structural qualities and to minimize the defects during FSP. In this work, aluminium alloy AA5052 is a base material, and it has low density and exhibit good resistance to corrosion, weldability and superior strength to weight ratio. The various research studies were carried out in FSP with different strengthening particulate, namely, SiC, TiO2, Graphene, and TiC. Confined research work was done with Chromium Carbide particulate on the grooved material surface via friction stir processing. Cr3C2 is highly hard, shows higher resistance to corrosion, and withstands high temperatures. newlineIn this research, three experimental works has been carried out. First, the FSW was conducted on the aluminium alloy AA5052 with three various tool pin profiles. Second, the Friction Stir Bead on Plate Processing (FSBPP) without adding strengthening particulate on AA5052 was completed.
