Abstract: | In recent years, wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSN) newlineplays a fundamental role in various domains due to the low cost, low power newlineand autonomous sensor networks containing diverse operating functions. The newlinesignificant intention of WMSN is to support and enhance tracking and newlinemonitoring applications through multimedia audio or video wireless sensor newlinenetworks. Generally, WMSN comprises multifunctional devices that are newlineinterconnected wirelessly referred to as simply nodes or sensor nodes. The newlinemodern WMSN is bi-directional that enables controlling the sensor activity. newlineThe WMSN involves the preserving of energy from the sensor nodes to newlinemaintain them in an operating condition so far as possible thereby retaining newlinethe network connectivity and prolonging the network lifetime. In addition to newlinethis, the routing protocol identifies the information that is capable of enabling newlinethe nodes for route selection among them. newlineOn the contrary, regardless the several benefits of WMSN, there are newlinefew severe issues that hinder their operations namely vulnerable security, newlineinsufficient coverage, congestion occurrences, deteriorated quality of service, newlineetc. The network topology of WSN varies from simple star network to newlinesophisticated multi-hop mesh wireless network. The propagation approaches newlineamong network hops are referred to as flooding and routing. Furthermore, the newlinenearby sensor nodes are capable of producing the same sensing data; whereas newlinethe WMSN routing protocols are necessary to detect and eradicate the newlineredundant data. The underlying motivation of this thesis is to obtain an newlineoptimal routing path in wireless multimedia sensor networks using two newlinesignificant phases that are discussed below. newline |
