Renewable energy serves as a solution for solving the worldwide issue of pollution and global warming caused due to fossil fuel usage. However, renewable energy sources are sporadic and therefore efficient energy storage technologies are the need of the hour. Rechargeable batteries have upheld to be essential energy storage devices due to their high energy density. However, the low power density is one of the major drawbacks of rechargeable batteries. At present, supercapacitors play a vital role in energy storage applications due to their exceptional electrochemical performance such as high power density, long lifespan and environmental safety respectively. Supercapacitors are gaining tremendous interest because they can be charged and discharged up to a million times in seconds. Recently, they have acknowledged the demanding interest in renewable energy devices owing to its advantages such as augmented power density, a relative increase in energy density, cost-effectiveness, improved life cycle, and fast charge/ discharge cycles up to a million times per second without any short circuit, respectively. newlinePolymer membranes have been applied in supercapacitors because the electrochemical stability window of the membrane is wide with easy processability. Polymer composite membrane preparation is a technology incorporated to increase the ionic conductivity at ambient temperature which further improves the electrical, mechanical and physical properties of the membrane. Separators with high cell resistance exhibit extremely poor newline
