Abstract: The controller of the Photovoltaic (PV) system is designed to improve its performance merits. Design issues of the controller include efficiency, reconfigurability, fault identification, and isolation. To achieve high efficiency, different MPPT algorithms, solar panels with higher efficiency solar cells have been proposed by many researchers. Among the MPPT algorithms, the Perturbation and Observation (PandO) algorithm is widely used in the design of the controller. In this thesis, different versions of the PandO algorithm have been studied and tested to propose a new control algorithm. The proposed algorithm was implemented using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) on a multi-module PV system. newline
