Abstract: The significance of power quality enhancement is magnificently high in driving the electric devices without any fluctuations. The power quality is deteriorated by various factors like massive growth of power electronic (PE) industries and excessive usage of non-linear loads. The major cause of power quality issue is sine wave distortion, which impairs the efficacy of the equipment that are linked to the point of common coupling (PCC) as it maximizes the current and voltage harmonics. The voltage imbalance at both ends of PCC is regarded as one of the major causes of PQ issues because it damages all other loads, which are connected to it. Since the power distribution system is connected to a variety of industrial electronic loads such as three-phase unbalanced loads, switching loads, reactive, non-linear loads, etc., the power quality issues like voltage imbalances, low power factor and current harmonics are occurred. Therefore, it is highly essential to rectify the PQ issues to overcome the abovementioned problems and to improvise the quality of power, which is supplied to the load. To rectify the PQ issues, a multifunction power conditioner known as Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) that combines series and shunt active power filters by means of a dc link capacitor is developed in this work, which significantly involves in minimizing the PQ issues in an efficient manner. The main objective of this work is to achieve dc link voltage regulation and harmonic extraction. The Fuzzy based adaptive PI controller is utilized for attaining stable dc link voltage across the capacitor. For the purpose of generating reference current, the DDSRF theory is initially used, which aids in alleviating the harmonics in the system. However, the DDSRF based newline
