Northeast India comprising eight states is geographically situated in a way that it tends to remain alienated from the mainland India. And while talking of North East Indian literature including poetry, an image of the theme of separation or alienation comes to one s mind. Their poetry undertones the very image of their hard end existence, survival, sufferings and their anguish and aspirations that they have been experiencing in their daily living amidst terror, unrest, insurgency and militancy. The poets of this region become the poets of the hour, poets of the needs. Robin S.Ngangom, Kynpham S.Nongkynrih and Desmond L.Kharmawphlang are such products of the hour that they can t but write of their own to preserve and present their very status. They have been contributing in their own way in the field of North East poetry and thereby making it rich and appealing. My research work will probe into the fact how these three Shillong based poets become the voices of the voiceless delineating with the deprived and marginalized community s anguish and aspirations from the North East India. newline
