Abstract: The demand for modern microwaves and millimeterwave components has been increasing in various communication services, to meet higher requirements in the satellite, super speed, mobile and broadband personal communications, site navigation, and remote sensing systems applications. The Internet, wireless, and mobile communications in broadband are experiencing a significant transformation. The use of radio spectrum is increasing because of the various emerging technologies, most of them requiring a wide range of frequency bands. Therefore, high-performance filters are required to meet this demand for small size, lightweight, reliable, multifunctional, and low-cost for high-frequency applications. newlineIn this research, high performance, compact sizes, and low-cost microwave filters are developed for modern communications systems. A waveguide is an electromagnetic (EM) wave component that spreads in its longitudinal direction, emerging applications with planar waveguide components. The Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technology has progressed in recent years allows the integration with passive and active components in a single substrate, with many advantages of the higher quality factor, high power handling capability, and low losses than a standard rectangular waveguide. newline
