Fossil fuels would be exhausted soon due to its faster rate of consumption. So many researchers and scientists from several nations are keen to identify many alternative fuels and a combination of alternative fuels for the diesel engines to maintain the emission norms. Plastic oil is one such alternative fuel with low production cost. Recovery of energy from waste plastics is carried out by various methods. Pyrolysis is one such method. This process converts waste plastics into hydrocarbon liquids. Thermal and catalytic pyrolysis processes are the two ways in which the catalytic pyrolysis process provides higher plastic oil yield at a lower temperature. newlineAt the beginning of the 21st century, ethanol-diesel and methanol-diesel blends are used in the diesel engines as the new research pattern. Due to their high latent heat properties and volatile nature, methanol and ethanol are the preferred one among various alcohols. Since plastic oil is highly viscous and less volatile, plastic oil and diesel blend not performed well in the diesel engines as fuel. To rectify this methanol is added with plastic oil and diesel blend. Because methanol reduced the viscosity and increased the volatile nature of the blend. So the combination of plastic oil-methanol-diesel blend is one innovative alternative fuel for diesel engines. This fuel has an ability to drive the existing diesel engines without much modification. newlineIn this present work, various proportions of plastic oil and methanol with diesel blend used as fuel in the CRDI diesel engine with and without modified operating parameters. The shortcomings of plastic oil and methanol fuels individually negatively influence the performance, combustion, and emission characteristics of the CRDI diesel engine. newline
