Abstract: newlineIntroduction: Avabahuk is a painful and disabling condition that hampers the day to day activity of an individual due to its slow recovery . In Avabahuk, vitiated vata dosha localizes in amsa pradesh and does the sankoch of siras leading to the manifestation1. Sira sankoch and bahupraspanditharam can be correlated with painful stiffness and loss of motion of the shoulder. Hence it can be correlated with frozen shoulder as described in the modern system of medicine. newlineThe general line of treatment mentioned for vatavyadhi in ayurvedic classics include snehan (both internal and external), swedan, mrudusamshodhan, basti, shirobasti, Nasya . Acharya Charak further states that, depending on the location and dushya (tissue element vitiated by vata) each patient should be given specific therapies. Acharya Vagbhata has mentioned Nasya karma in the jatruurdhwavatavikaras. newlineMethod: 80 patients fulfilling the diagnostic and inclusion criteria of either sex were selected for the study. They were randomly assigned into 2 equal Groups AandB. newlineGroup A- Patient were treated with ksheerbalatailanasya 8 drops In each nostril for 7 days, 2 sittings at 15 days interval newlineGroup B- Patient were treated with Mashatailanasya 8 drops In each nostril for 7 days, 2 sittings at 15 days interval. newline newlineResult:On assessing the overall effect of the therapy, KsheerbalatailaNasya showed good result with 60.20% relief in subjective parameters whereas that of Nasya with Mashataila showed 48.01% relief in subjective parameters. There was statistically significant difference between efficacy of Ksheerbalataila Nasya and Mashataila Nasya in the management of Avabahuk (frozen shoulder). newlineConclusion :. newlineNasya Karma helps in Avabahuka by its Vatashamana and Brimhana Karma. Taila acts as an anti-inflammatory nutritive and provides nourishment and there by helps relief in subjective as well as objective parameters. Therefore, Ksheerbalatailanasya can be effectively and safely administered without any adverse effects in patients suffering from Avabahuk
