Abstract

The present work is an humble attempt to trace out the evolution , growth newlineand decline of the Socialist Movement in 20th century Orissa on which no newlineproper and sincere work has been done so far from research perspectives. newlineWhile highlighting about the nature, growth and decline of the Socialist newlineMovement, attempt has also been made to focus on certain personalities whose newlineoutstanding contributions madethe movement to receive momentum. newlineSimultaneously, it is also pointed out about the withdrawal tendency of the newlinemovement due to the loss of vigour and potency of its Kennel who once steered newlineup the Socialist Movement. The focus is specially made in this work on S.N. newlineDwibedy, a protagonist of the Socialist Movement as he does not receive due newlineattention so far by the social scientists. newline
