The thesis aims to assert the frameworks of the psychological study of women in Helen Oyeyemi s novels. Oyeyemi has an experience in her childhood days over internal conflicts. Her women characters endure varied conflicts in her works which reflect the author s mind. Her novels investigate the immigrant experiences and the existence of a new home. Each female character in her works has unique qualities, and past memories are to be analysed as psychic upheavals. newlineThe thesis encompasses five chapters. The first chapter, Introduction, discusses a brief background study of Oyeyemi s contemporaries and an overview of her fictional output. It also includes the theoretical background of the thesis and literature review. Chapter 2 analyses conflicts that arise in complicated contexts by adopting various phases of mental illnesses in women s behaviour. It also examines the current upheavals in women-focused conflict phenomena, including intergenerational, internal, identity conflicts and personal hysteria. It outlines the theories and ideas required to comprehend the dynamics, pathologies, and conflict situations that women experience.
