Abstract: Penetration of the cleanienergy (mainly: the wind and the photo-voltaic (PV) generated electricalienergy) in the powerigrid is increasing exponentially. Both the wind and the PV poweriplants are connected to the grid through converters, transferring the generated DC power in PV applications and AC power in wind poweri(WP) applications to the ACigrid. Theiproduction of the electricityifrom the renewable energy conversion systemsi(RECS) requires various powerielectronics convertersi(PECs). TheiPECs are utilized, wherever the electric powerineeds to be convertedifrom alternativeicurrent (AC) to directicurrenti(DC) or viceiversa. These are also used foriconverting anyilevel of DC to anotherilevel, and for converting frequency or amplitude of ACisupplies. Thei primary task of the PECs is to supply voltages and currents in a formithat ensembleiwith user loads. ModerniPECs are involved in a wide rangeiof applications; like: TheiRECS, electricivehiclesi(EVs) technology, tractioniapplications, motoridrives and so on.
