Abstract: | In general, improving the thermal performance of any heat newlineexchanging equipment is referred to as the heat transfer enhancement or newlineaugmentation technique. There has been an increasing demand for more newlineefficient equipment focusing on reduced energy and material cost in recent newlineyears. By adopting an enhancement technique, the thermal resistance newlinedeveloped in the equipment could be suppressed, which may result in a newlinesubstantial increase in the convective heat transfer rate for the given heat duty newlineand pressure drop of the equipment. These techniques can be used to increase newlinethe heat transfer rate without affecting the performance of the other newlinecomponents in the same system. As a result of development in modern newlinetechnology, especially in the field of evaporators, the heat transfer newlineenhancement technique plays a significant role in the chemical processing newlineindustries, power plants, air-conditioning field and desalination plants. newline |
