Abstract: Now a days, renewable energy has become an emerging issue due to rising power demand, instability of therising oil pricesand environmental problems. Among all the alternatives, fuel cell gains more popularity due to their higher efficiency and eco-friendliness. However, the cathodic reaction of the fuel cell is a very sluggish reaction which hampers the overall performance of the device. Therefore, it requires a highly efficient and stable electrocatalyst to boost the reaction. Pt is the only commercially available electrocatalyst for fuel cell but however its high price and low abundance holds back the widespread applicationof fuel cell. Therefore, in our research, we developed noble metal free electrocatalystsfor oxygen reduction reaction. The thesis is divided into four parts. newline
