dc.description.abstract | Soil is a major and important natural resource, that not only supports human life but also newlinefurnishes commodities for economic growth. The process of soil degradation has posed a newlineserious threat to the ecosystem. The existence of heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium, and newlinelead, etc. beyond a certain threshold can produce ecological risks which include reduction in newlinecrop yield; a decrease in the fertility of the soil; and a degradation of human health. However, newlinesoil contamination is not the latest happening; its rate has been exponentially increasing in newlinerecent times. Because of the environmental risks, the assessment of heavy metal newlineconcentrations in soils needs to be focused. Considering the facts above, it is apparent that the newlinestudy of estimating heavy metal contamination in soil is required. Vast research has been newlinecarried out across the Globe to estimate heavy metal stress level in soil. newline | |
