Abstract: The development of a broad range of applications, from catalysis to nanotechnology, electrochemistry and biology has increased interest in the building of well-defined supramolecular self-assembled nanostructures from the self-assembly of tiny organic molecules in the last decade. Biomolecules are very appealing building blocks as they are versatile, biocompatible, biodegradable and are able to generate spectacular supramolecular architectures. Peptides are a class of biomolecules that represent highest diversity. Peptide self-assembly has been extensively researched due to their immunogenicity, inherent biocompatibility, high selectivity, low tissue accumulation, resemblance to proteins, low cytotoxicity and ability to form nanostructures with diverse morphologies, as well as their intriguing potential application in a variety of fields newline
