Abstract

Diabetic foot complications are the most common cause of non-traumatic newlinelower-extremity amputations. People with diabetes develop ulcers on their feet called newlineas the diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) because of multiple factors, like neuropathy, newlineischemia. International diabetic federation (IDF) statistics show a global increase in newlineDFUs and the lifestyle complications affecting the socio-economic scenarios of the newlinepatient and their families. Early detection and appropriate treatment of these ulcers newlinemay prevent up to 85 percent of amputations. newlineThe human thermal system reflects physiological changes in the lower newlineextremities as heat is generated and radiated at specific points on the foot, which can newlinebe non-invasively measured using thermal imaging.
