In current study, the anti-inflammatory properties were identified from two species i.e. Perna viridis and Meretrix meretrix foot as well as visceral mass. All the four samples have better protein content (approximately 22-33%) and showed presence of both essential and non-essential amino acids. Based upon the protein content, hydrolysis were performed for 12 hours using four enzymes (trypsin, pepsin, papain and alcalase); the active hydrolysates were examined for each 3 hours interval. The active hydrolysates were observed in alcalase 6th hour, alcalase 3rd hour, peptic 9th hour, tryptic 6th hour for P. viridis foot (PVF), P. viridis visceral mass (PVV), M. meretrix foot (MMF) and M. meretrix visceral mass (MMV) using confirmatory assays: HRBC membrane stabilization (HMS) and albumin denaturation (AD) assays. Further, potent hydrolysates were separated with three molecular weight cut off, the fractions 30-10 kDa for P. viridis and 10-3 kDa for M. meretrix samples showed better anti-inflammatory activity and were investigated for anti-inflammatory activity after size exclusion chromatography (SEC); where, PF-II, PV-I, MF-I and MV-II have potent activity newline
