dc.description.abstractDrones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), started as a by-product of military research are passing through their most popular period when they are being used in broader horizons, and more possibilities are being explored in commercial applications. Drones are equipped with high-vision cameras, advanced sensors, and GPS receivers to deliver diverse services from high altitudes in multi-facet application domains. Many of the applications require drones to establish complex formations resulting in swarms of drones managed using automated controls. Hence, the need to have a concept of interconnecting all drones in a unified framework emerged which yielded the Internet of Drones (IoD) paradigm. The IoD facilitates the autonomous operations of drones in every modern-day application (like emergency services, agriculture, urban planning and architecture, transportation and delivery, security, and law enforcement, etc) across the globe. newline
