Abstract: | Surface wave propagation has found signi cant applications in the eld of engineering and sciences involving ultrasonic range, operating various thermal environments, geo- physics, geological, plasma physics, optics, etc. During a few decades, thermoelasticity has undergone substantial progress owing to di erent branches of engineering. The ob- jective of developing generalized thermoelasticity is to eliminate the problem of in nite speed of heat propagation spotted in the conventional coupled dynamical thermoelas- ticity theories. Now, to limit the speed of heat propagation the theory developed is known as hyperbolic thermoelasticity theory. This study is concerned to analyze the propagation of the Surface wave in thermoelastic media. The governing equations of thermoelasticity have been solved by surface wave solution to deduce the frequency equation for the Rayleigh wave with relevant boundary conditions. A simulation study has been conducted for numerical discussion and the ndings are graphically demon- strated for various parameters such as attenuation coe cient and phase velocity etc. in the context of the generalized thermoelastic models. This thesis comprises original research work on quotPropagation of Surface Wave in the Thermoelastic Half-Spacequot. Based upon the theories of Rayleigh waves propagation in thermoelastic solids, the thesis has been divided into the followings chapters including the reference list at the end of this thesis. |
