dc.description.abstract | Nowadays to improve bearing capacity of soil and to stabilize the soil, various methods has been used. One of the best methods out of those is use of pin pile. The application of pin piles method is increasing day by day because it is time saving, reduction is time of execution, minor material, choice of quick equipment and transport of pin piles performance facilities and settlement control. Piles with diameter of less than 30 cm are generally referred as pin piles or micro piles. In many cases, steel pipes of 50 to 200 mm diameters are used as pin piles. The strengthened ground acts as coherent mass and behaves remarkably well, capable of sustaining very high compressive loads at defined settlement or alternatively defined loads at reduced movement. Many cases exist where it is not practical or economical to install more traditional deep foundation elements such as driven piles or drilled shafts. In these cases, such as in ground where obstructions, boulders and solution cavities are present, Pin piles have been selected. newline | |
