Abstract: Increased green energy presence in distribution power networks has the ability to resolve rising energy demands while also reducing fossil fuel consumption, as well as newlineproviding economic and technical merits. However, the quantity of power delivered newlineto customers cannot be allowed to take precedence over the quality of that electricity. newlineThe technical, social, economic as well as environmental like multi-benefits of newlinerenewable energy sources (RESs) don t come without certain set of challenges and newlinevoltage and current quality deterioration are foremost among them. Along with its newlineadvantages, green technology poses power quality (PQ) problems such as voltage newlineharmonic distortion (VHD), current harmonic distortion (CHD), voltage fluctuation newline(VF) frequency fluctuation (FF), voltage unbalance (VU), and over-voltage. Healthy newlinepower quality, in terms of all the aforementioned phenomena, is assured by monitoring newlineand benchmarking their corresponding indices but performing the same, only at newlinedistributed generation (DG) bus level, is not sufficient since also the grid, as well as newlineload bus power quality, plays an important role which makes the overall PQ newlineassessment of renewable energy systems quite complex one. The thorough monitoring newlineand benchmarking of all PQ phenomena, by associated standard indices, at each bus newlinecategory, turn out to be a complex task particularly when the integrated renewable newlineenergy source fed DGs are high in penetration as well as number. newline
